Dwight grew up in Waco, Texas, where he attended high school and in 2015 was inducted into the Waco Athletic Hall of Fame. He was a top 100 football recruit out of Texas, with offers from Texas A&M, University of Arkansas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma University, but Dwight ultimately chose his hometown college - Baylor University. At Baylor, Dwight was an All Southwest Conference All Academic in 1995 and an All Big 12 football player in 1998. After college Dwight went on to play professionally for the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants and Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots.
Over the course of his career Dwight has developed personal and professional techniques in speed, agility, strength, and conditioning. Now, as owner and CEO of Total Athlete, Dwight is helping youth and adult athletes from across the country improve their performance through the use of his proven techniques and the aid of some of America's top athletic trainers. "We train everyone from the six years old all the way to professional ranks," said Dwight. "And we do it in all aspects of making them the Total Athlete." Total Athlete has helped 85 athletes become D1 scholarship recipients since 2010. Dwight happily lives in McDonough with wife Mia, his son Dwight “DJ” Johnson Jr, daughter Milani, and the family dog Boogie, he enjoys bringing his expertise to the Henry County community.
